Jenny is a senior publications researcher and writer as well as the webmaster for Spann Communications (SC). Prior to becoming a consultant, she worked in the public and nonprofit sectors as an intergovernmental analyst, program planner, and project administrator. She also set up and managed a nationally funded research center focused on mental health services and taught a graduate course in social work, both for the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work. She has extensive experience in board relations, strategic planning, and communications and recently authored a nonfiction book for Barnes & Noble's Health Basics series.

Jenny graduated with distinction from Stanford University (1990), earning a BA in economics as well as two writing awards. She also has an MSW in social work and an MPA in public policy/administration, both from the University of Pittsburgh (1995).

Jenny was a volunteer tutor for many years, most recently with the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council. She also spent six months in Jamaica, teaching English and math to young adults through a national literacy program.
